Main Reasons Affecting The Price of PCB Board
Will you be confused when you enter the same PCB board production parameters to get different prices from different PCB manufacturers?In fact, such a situation is normal. There are a lot of factors that affect PCB prices in PCB manufacturing. Today, I will introduce three main reasons to explain why the PCB price will be different.
1. Different materials and thickness of the material used
In order to meet the needs of our customers, PCB manufacturers will have many different types and different suppliers with different thickness of PCB sheet, and also have different material. Different PCB sheet will have a price discrepancy. Take double-sided PCB for example, general PCB sheet used in are FR-4, FR-1, CEM-1, CEM-3 etc. Besides, the same material suppliers have several specifications.
2. Different surface treatment
Different surface treatments result in different PCB prices. Such as gold-plated PCB board and HASL with lead PCB board, routing, the use of silk screen lines and dry film lines will form different costs, resulting in price diversity.
3. Different difficulty in manufacturing process
Different difficulty in manufacturing process will result in different costs. If two boards have 1000 holes, that a board aperture is greater than 0.6mm and the other board aperture is less than 0.6mm, it will be a different drilling cost. Two PCB board in addition to two different board width, the other are the same. That one is greater than 0.2mm and one is less than 0.2mm, will also cause different production costs. Because of the difficulty in PCB manufacturing, the board scrap rate is higher. Thus, it results in price diversity.
